WHY BECOME A FIREWISE COMMUNITY?
Becoming a Firewise community is easier than most people think — and it makes a big difference in protecting homes and neighbors from wildfire.
Firewise USA® is a national, volunteer-based program that helps neighbors work together to reduce wildfire risks. The best part? It’s simple and flexible.
To qualify each year, your neighborhood only needs to complete efforts, such as:
From Hwy 101 in Larkspur, take the Sir Francis Drake Blvd exit west to Fairfax 5.3 miles, turn left onto Pacheco Ave, right onto Broadway, left onto Bolinas Rd, left onto Porteus Ave, and follow to the parking lot.
Meet at the gate on San Carlos Way in Novato. From Hwy 101 in Novato, take the exit for San Marin Dr west 2.1 miles. Turn right onto San Carlos Way and follow to end (dead end).
